PRESS: Yakutia to finish design of Mir-Gluboky mine in 2023

YAKUTSK, Feb 1 (PRIME) – Construction design of the Mir-Gluboky diamond mine will be finished until 2024, head of the Yakutia republic Aysen Nikolayev told newspaper Izvestiya in an interview released on Wednesday.

"Active construction of the Mir-Gluboky mine, the largest diamond industry object on the planet, will start in 2024, and in 2023, all design works will be finished," Nikolayev said.

Nikolayev told PRIME earlier that the start of construction works was slated for 2023 and the launch for 2029–2030.

The governor also said, as cited by Izvestiya, that Yakutia is focused on exports to the countries in the Asia-Pacific region, where Russian resources enjoy high demand.
